World Series Info

Everyone wants great World Series tickets, and do you know why? Because it is one of the most exciting, enthralling and famous sporting events in the whole world - That's why!

Way back in 1903 the first World Series took place between Boston and Pittsburgh, with Boston emerging the Baseball World Champions. What a glorious title that also gave credit to the fledgling American League that Boston represented. Despite two World Wars, Great Depression and even earthquakes, the World Series has then been played faithfully every year except for in 1994, where it was not played due to of all things... money. Payroll limits and salary caps disagreements ensured that a settlement could not be agreed upon, and the World Series would not go ahead.

Last season, after the American League won the 2013 All-Star Game held at Citi Field in Queens, New York, the Boston Red Sox advanced to represent the American League in the World Series. Their opponent were the National League Champion St. Louis Cardinals.

St. Louis won the first game of the series at Fenway Park but the Cardinals took game two. The Series moved to Busch Stadium where the Cardinals won game three. The Sox bounced back and took game four and the series was tied at two. The Red Sox then reeled off two victories and lead the series 3-2 as it returned to Fenway where the Red Sox took care of business and dispatched the Cardinals on their home field. In what would amount to a route, the Sox pounded rookie Michael Wacha who had been previously unbeaten in the playoffs. Eventual World Series MVP David Ortiz was walked four times by the Cardinals and scored twice.

It's not hard to see why World Series tickets are such a hot commodity, besides the fact that you're taking part in such a historic event, you are also witnessing the pinnacle of baseball skill for that season. The two best teams have fought off all competition to get to this final stage, and will play their very best to win the title. It makes for absolutely great baseball action, and if your favorite team is actually in the World Series, then no doubt you will do everything possible to obtain those hard-to-get tickets. Life doesn't get much sweeter than sitting down the front with your buddies at a World Series.

Just make sure you have a steady stream of hot dogs and beer!
